Joan Moore has been appointed as the new Chair of the Institute of Student Employers (ISE).

We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Joan Moore as our new Chair.

Previously Treasurer on the ISE Board of Directors, Joan has a long history with the ISE. She has been a member for more than a decade and, as a director, played an instrumental role in developing the Institute’s strategy.

Joan has worked in recruitment for more than 20 years. Currently Head of UK Early Talent Recruitment at Accenture, she is responsible for hiring around 750 apprentices, interns and graduates each year.

She has also experienced the higher education perspective, having gained valuable experience with the careers service at Kingston University.

Joan has a specialist interest in using technology to drive innovation in recruitment, cross-industry collaboration and diversity.

This knowledge will be invaluable as she oversees the ISE’s current priorities, including delivering a new CRM and website, improving member value and engaging members with the ‘total talent’ model of the future.

Joan succeeds Anne-Marie Champion, Early Careers Manager-Recruitment at Jaguar Land Rover.

Joan commented: “Board members are only custodians for a certain period of time, so it’s really important that I take this opportunity to make a positive impact during my term. ISE has tremendous value to the early careers community and I’m excited about our plans for the future. Taking on the role of Chair and helping to drive our next chapter is a real honour.”

Commenting on the appointment, Sarah Hathaway, joint CEO at ISE said: “We’re delighted to welcome Joan as Chair. She’ll play an active role in shaping the ISE in the coming years and her experience both with the ISE and at Accenture are a great fit for our immediate priorities as well as future plans. Having worked both on the employer and university side of early careers, she’ll be a real asset to our members.”

Stephen Isherwood, joint CEO at ISE added: “Joan is a great champion of the student recruitment and development industry, and students themselves. She has a wealth of experience and an abundance of energy that she will bring to the Chair role.”
