New year, new you? ISE training courses can help you to upskill your career.

January is a great time to review where you are in your career and think about how you might build or advance your current skills.

By being part of the ISE you’re already on your way. Our ongoing calendar of events, content and research reports will help you to keep up-to-date with current trends and best practice. We also offer a series of training courses.

If you work in student recruitment and development our courses provide an opportunity to learn from industry experts and peers. Open to both members and non-members, they are currently delivered online via a ZOOM platform so there’s no related travel time or costs.

Here’s a taste of our courses that will enable you to upskill your career in 2023.

 

Designing high quality assessment

Current dates: 15 and 16 March 2023

Tessa also facilitates our course on how to design high quality assessment. Run over two days, it is relevant to employers who are interested in reviewing or improving their early careers assessment process.

As well as latest industry developments, the course will share best practice and provide a practical way forward to improving quality and efficiency in the assessment process.

Acing Development for Early Careers

Current dates: 28 March, 18 April, 2 May and 16 May 2023

This interactive programme is split into four sessions delivered by our expert development duo, Fiona Belk and Bob Athwal.

Relevant to those working in learning and development it will look at how to make making learning stick, managing relationships and engaging stakeholders as well as how to create solutions that aid wellbeing.

Graduate Recruitment 101

Current dates: 8 February, 23 May, 11 October 2023.

As hinted by its title, this course is designed with industry newbies in mind and will help people in more junior roles get to grips with the graduate recruitment industry.

As well as provide insight to the market and sources of data, it will help attendees develop a plan for attracting candidates, plan a standard recruitment process and run a tendering process for suppliers. It will also cover benchmarking and programme measurement.

This course is run by ISE Fellow and founder of Gradconsult, Rebecca Fielding. You can read more about Rebecca in her blog on being a Fellow.

Building effective partnerships

Current course dates: 19 and 20 April, 8 and 9 November 2023

Rebecca also facilitates this course alongside Mike Grey, a specialist in employer engagement with education.

Aimed at recruitment or development professionals, this course is perfect for those looking to get more out of their external partnerships or better influence internal stakeholders.

Run over two days, this course looks in detail at building effective partnerships with schools, colleges and universities before moving on to suppliers and internal stakeholders.

You will take from this workshop the ability to identify the most critical factors for your organisation in choosing partners and a process for evaluation.

ISE’s course calendar is updated throughout the year. In the pipeline are planning a long-term student recruitment strategy, developing effective practices for socio-economic diversity and inclusion and how to run impactful campaigns.
