New careers help for graduates

ISE members contribute to new government guide that offers careers help to graduates and all those who support them.

To support this year’s graduates, ISE and its members have been working with the Department for Education and Office for Students on a new government initiative.

The Graduate Employment and Skills Guide is an indispensable collection of resources that can help students take their first steps on the career ladder.

Developed with the sector, it brings together a broad range of tools, advice and resources into a five-step plan which will help pandemic graduates consider their post-university choices, identify and develop their critical skills, gain professional experience, and further their career while maintaining good mental wellbeing.

The online hub is a valuable tool for students and new graduates as well as careers services and anyone who works to support the employability of young people.

We received a fantastic response to our call out for information from our employer and supplier members and its great to see many of them included in the guide.

As well as pointing students to careers advice such as services provided by universities and Prospects, the guide includes skills development tools such as the bp Skills Accelerator, Cappfinity Strengths Profile and KPMG events.

Work experience resources such as those from Rate my Placement and Bright Network also feature as well as public sector opportunities through the Unlocked graduate scheme.

Thanks to all of those who sent information and made this happen.
